The Two Towers is the second installment of J.R.R Tolkien's epic trilogy continues. Frodo (Elijah Wood) faces many perils on his quest to save Middle-Earth. While Frodo is in danger, his devoted friend Sam (Sean Astin) helps him during tuff times and continues to stick with Gandalf's word, "Don't you lose him Samwise Gamshee." One night, a sneaky, creature who wants the Ring, haunts Frodo and Sam. This creature is known as Gollum (Andy Serkis). He hates and loves the Ring. He has two personalities, a good side, and, of course, a bad side. By the end of the movie, however, his bad side takes over. He decides that the precious(the Ring) would kill them both (Frodo and Sam). You may ask, "Why does Gollum want to kill them?" Well, the answer is quite simple, "he wants the Ring." This is why this Ring is bad. It takes a hold of you and it drives you MAD! That is also why Frodo got angry at Sam because of the Ring.
Merry (Dominic Monaghan) and Pippin (Billy Boyd) escaped from the Ura-Ki and enter Fangorn Forest. This is where the they meet the Ents. Though, they meet Treebeard. Treebeard thinks that the two hobbits are Orcs, but in the end of the movie, the Ents decide, "That you are not Orcs." Pippin replies, "Well that's good news." They also figure out that a war is buren. The Ents fight Saruman (Christopher Lee) because they killed Treebeard's friends. Saruman killed his friends so that he could make more Orcs/Ura-Ki.
On the other hand, Aragorn (Viggo Mortesen), Legolas (Orlando Bloom), and Gimili (John Rhys-Davies) continue to look for Merry and Pippin but they don't succeed. Instead, they found a shocking apperance by Gandalf (Ian McKellen). Gandalf returns as Gandalf the White, you would consider him as powerful. He came back because his mission wasn't complete. The four of them ride off to Rohan, the capital city, Edoras, to see the King. King Theoden's body is being taken over by Saruman so that Saruman could take over Rohan, then the whole Middle-Earth. King Theoden has an evil sidekick, Grima (Brad Dourif). Gandalf meets the King and releases him from the spell. War is coming. Gandalf leaves and says, "Look to my coming on the first dawn, and to the east." This war is between Men and Ura-Ki. Three hundred Rohan people against 10,000 Ura-Ki. Who's really going to win? But Aragorn remains true to these words, "There is always hope." The war was taken place in Helm's Deep. Before the war starts, Haldier of Lorien (Craig Parker) comes with elves to help out in the war. Later in the war, Haldier is dead. The war was a tradjec. But at dawn, guess who came? Yes, Gandalf, with Eomer (Karl Urban), and other men. The Battle of Helm's Deep is over but the Battle for Middle-Earth just began.
The love story with Aragorn and Arwen ( Liv Tyler) contiues. Although, Arwen wants to be mortal but her father, Elrond (Hugo Weaving), says that she can't stay with him. She has to go to Valider with her people because in Rivendell, there is nothing left.
In the movie, Galadriel (Cate Blanchett), explains that Frodo's quest will claim his life.
Also Frodo, Sam, and Gollum reach the Black Gate and they get captured by Faramir, the brother of Boromir (Sean Bean). Later, they get released by Faramir and his life is going to end.
Honestly, I have to say, that this movie was the best movie ever made. Peter Jackson did a TERRIFIC job on the first two films and me and my friend can't wait till December 17, 2003!!!!!!!!! Without the imagination of J.R.R. Tolkien, I wouldn't be a LOTR nut and thanks Peter for making this movie. We had six nominations for The Two Towers and we won 2, Visual Effects and Sound Editing!! Congratualtions Two Towers!!!!!!!!!!!!
